How to Position the pads?
- Make sure the machine is switched off before you attach the pads to your skin.
- Position the pads either side of the painful area, at least 2.5cm (1 inch) apart.
- Don’t place them on sensitive areas, exposed sores, varicose veins, numb areas or on your chest and upper back at the same time.
- Avoid putting the pads directly on your joints since that can affect how the pad adheres to your skin and lower the effectiveness of the treatment. In this case, place the pads below and above the painful joint.
When and How to Clean the Electrode Pads?
- When: Wash the pads when the adhesive surface becomes dirty and/or the pads are difficult to attach.
- How: Wash the pads softly with your fingertips under slow running cold water for several seconds (Do not use a sponge/cloth/sharp object like a nail on the adhesive side. Do not wash the pads too long for too frequently). Air-dry the pads. Do not wipe with a tissue paper or cloth.
Note: The pads' life may vary by how often you wash the pads, the skin condition, and how you store the pads.
Etekcity TENS Unit Pads Replacement Set
The TENS Unit Electrode Pads Set is intended to deliver electrical stimulation generated by the TENS Unit to the skin that the pads are in contact with. These pads are not only the official replacement pads of Etekcity TENS Unit (ETU-134) but also are compatible with most of the TENS Units with classic 2mm pigtail style lead wire. They can be applied to adult patients with normal, healthy, and dry skin.
Note
Do not place the pads:
Over your neck, because this could cause severe muscle spasms resulting in the closure of your airways, difficulty breathing, or adverse effects on heart rhythm or blood pressure.
Over open wounds or rashes, or over swollen, red, infected, or inflamed areas or skin eruption, for example: phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins.
Over, or in proximity to, cancerous lesions.
DO NOT use the pads or TENS Unit at all if you have a cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted metallic or electronic devices.
Maintenance
Wash the pads when the adhesive becomes dirty and the pads are difficult to attach.
1) Turn the TENS Unit until off and disconnect the lead pins from the pads.
2) Rinse the pads under cold water for several seconds, using your fingers to remove any dirt or debris.
The life of an electrode may vary due to skin condition, frequency of washing, and storage. You may need to replace the electrodes if:
· They do not stick to the skin.
· More than 25%of the pad's surface is not sticking to the skin.
· They are ripped or broken.
